audience back to the 1950's when most of their mums would have been
very young children or a twinkle in the eye. By bringing to life the
role of the woman in society in a highly entertaining piece, Trisha
will then facilitate a debate on the role of the woman and man in
today's society - post women's lib and post a lot of other stuff too!!
Is it better, worse or just totally different? Is family life lacking
the fixed roles of mum and dad that the fifties tried to adhere to? Or
were there just a lot of unhappy couples staying together because
society dictated it? A lot of questions............... A thought provoking but also highly amusing look at life style advice of the 1950’s. How to be a perfect woman and wife and just what was the role of the man? This piece of entertainment provides a strong platform for a debate on the positive and/or negative results of women’s lib. and the changing role of men and women in the family and workplace. With so many politicians giving opinions about these issues and passing various acts here and there in an attempt to reflect changes in society perhaps it’s time to look to the past at some ideas which are bound to kick off a debate amongst the younger generation.
TRISHA LEWIS is a highly experienced actor with a recent degree in communication. Trisha has been touring various one-woman shows nationally for many years. She has also had experience as a drama workshop leader and as a mentor in schools and youth clubs. This piece lasts for 30 mins - 1 hour - adjusted to fit the required time slot. Fee discussed with a view to fit in with school budgets. THE WISE AND THE PASSIONATETrisha is very involved with the elderly - working with Hampshire County Council and many private Care Homes and Day Centres accross the South.
